Why IELTS ?

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is a standardized test used to measure the language proficiency of non-native English speakers who want to study, work or immigrate to English-speaking countries. The test assesses the four language skills of listening, reading, writing, and speaking.

For example, if someone from a non-English speaking country wants to study abroad in an English-speaking country like the UK or Australia, USA, Canada, New Zealand, Germany they would need to take the IELTS exam to demonstrate their proficiency in English. The exam scores would be used by universities and visa authorities to evaluate their language skills and determine their eligibility for admission or visa approval.

No strict prerequisites for IELTS, but it assesses English proficiency for academic/work purposes. Basic English understanding & familiarity with academic English is recommended. Institutions/countries may have their own score requirements, so check before taking exam.

The length of preparation time depends on your current level of English proficiency, desired score, and availability for practice. Typically, it is recommended to prepare for at least 6-8 weeks prior to the exam date. However, some students may need more time to reach their desired score.

The IELTS exam consists of four sections: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. The Listening, Reading, and Writing sections are completed in one sitting, while the Speaking section may be completed on the same day or up to a week before or after the other sections.

The IELTS exam is scored on a band scale of 0-9, with half band increments. The overall band score is calculated by taking the average of the four sections.
